Blog #1
Hello, and Welcome – Let’s Begin!
After ten wonderful years as a marriage and funeral celebrant, I’ve finally decided to do something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time: start a blog.
I’ve stood beside couples as they vow their love under open skies, walked gently with grieving families through their darkest days, and marked countless moments that matter. Along the way, I’ve been asked hundreds of questions—some practical, some deeply emotional, and some that have stayed with me long after the ceremonies ended.
So I thought: why not gather those questions, those stories, those insights, and share them with you here?
This blog is for anyone curious about the work I do—from couples planning their weddings, to families preparing for a farewell, to fellow celebrants, or simply those who love a meaningful read. I’ll be answering some of the most frequently asked questions I’ve received over the years and offering tips, behind-the-scenes reflections, ceremony inspiration, and heartfelt stories. Whether it’s “What actually happens in a marriage ceremony?” or “How do we honour someone’s life in a way that feels right?”, I’ll try to shed some light.
Truth be told, I’ve never done this before. But I do love to write. I love language that feels real, words that ring true, and creating something that resonates. I hope what I share here will be interesting, helpful, and occasionally moving.
And I’d love for this to be a two-way conversation.
If you have a question—big or small, celebrant-related or just something you’ve always wondered—please send it my way. Your curiosity might just be the spark for my next post.
So, here’s to the beginning. Thank you for being here.
